If there’s one twist that Vampire Diaries fans never expected, it was having to say goodbye to Nina Dobrev after six years of following Elena Gilbert’s epic love stories with Stefan and Damon Salvatore. And yet, when season 6 came to an end, Dobrev decided not to re-up her contract, therefore saying goodbye to Elena … at least for now.

But it wasn’t just the fans of the show that had to say goodbye to Dobrev. It was also those she worked with every day.

EW has an exclusive sneak peek of a behind-the-scenes video that will be featured on the DVD/Blu-ray release of The Vampire Diaries: The Complete Sixth Season, which hits shelves Sept. 1. In the video, Dobrev’s castmates remember some of their best scenes with the show’s leading lady.

The Original siblings might’ve done away with their parents — and that one evil aunt — but what happens when the tables are turned, and suddenly their children come to town?

That’s the premise of the third season of The Originals, when The Trinity comes to town. The Trinity, of course, is made up of the first vampire Klaus ever sired, the first vampire Elijah ever sired, and the first vampire Rebekah ever sired. Long story short, there’s a sire line war erupting and these vamps probably have a lot to say.

And when it comes to Klaus’ progeny, Lucien (played by Andrew Lees), things are, well, complicated. “We learned how to make vampires when my sire was created,” Joseph Morgan tells EW. “There’s definitely a bond there. We owe each other a lot.”

But despite the fact that Lucien’s arrival will feel a bit like an old friend coming to town, we can’t forget the fact that Klaus left this guy behind at some point … along with pretty much every other vampire he turned (other than Marcel). “There’s also this element that it’s not just the three of them but they’re in contact with a lot of the sire line for each of us so it’s like, ‘Hey, remember us? All those vampires that you turned who you’ve now abandoned? Well guess what, we’re not too happy about that and here’s why,’” Morgan says.

Speaking of the complicated relationship, EW has an exclusive first look at Klaus reuniting with his progeny, who’s described as a smart, charming, wildly successful guy who prides himself on being two steps ahead of everyone. Sound like anyone you know?

Lees will recur as Lucien when season 3 of The Originals premieres Thursday, Oct. 8 at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.

Stefan and Caroline fans, The Vampire Diaries is granting your wish.

Although Caroline (Candice Accola) will be doing her best to avoid Stefan (Paul Wesley) when Season 7 picks up, executive producer Caroline Dries tells us it’s only a matter of time before his charm, good looks and hero hair, work his way into Caroline’s heart.
“As much as there’s chaos around her, every time she looks at Stefan she gets butterflies,” Dries says in the video above. “So, it’s only a matter of time before it’s like… ‘You make me happy.’ So, we’ll see them get together soon.”

OK, but how soon? (We have waited six seasons after all!) “Their relationship is coming in stages,” Dries says. “Just because two people kiss doesn’t mean they’re going steady or whatever the term is now. So, they’ll have their starts and stops a bit, but we’ll explore each of those chapters of the relationship.”

Are you excited that Stefan and Caroline – humanity and all – are finally going to be together?
The Vampire Diaries returns on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 8/7c on The CW.

TV Guide gives us an exclusive look in The Vampire Diaries’ 7th season premiere and how this season’s villain (Lily) will turn our favorite brother-duo against each other;

The heretics are settling in on The Vampire Diaries, and it won’t be long before they begin their reign of destruction.
In our exclusive first look at the Season 7 premiere, Lily Salvatore (Annie Wersching) and her minions are out for blood — literally. But while the heretics have clearly eaten their way through Mystic Falls, leaving Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice Accola) to pick up the pieces, Lily (high heels and all!) appears to be directing from the sidelines.
“What I love about Lily is that I don’t think we ever see her lift a finger on the show,” executive producer Caroline Dries tells us. “She has a way of being manipulating and calculating and she knows how to push her son’s buttons. We’ll see the brothers start to turn against each other, but they’ll catch on and Lily, as much as she loves her sons, has her own agenda. So, she is a villain in that what she wants opposes what our heroes want, but in her mind all she wants is peace and she would love it if everyone would get along.”

Damon (Ian Somerhalder), meanwhile, appears to want nothing to do with the heretics, or anyone for that matter. While he looks to be a bit of a mess in our photo, Somerhalder tells us, “Damon doesn’t get depressed — he gets even or he gets drunk.”
The Vampire Diaries premieres on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 8/7c on The CW.
